Overview Mitchell Manor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Memory Care Unit Director to lead our specialized memory care services. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dementia and Alzheimer's care, combined with strong leadership skills to oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a compassionate environment for residents. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the memory care unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care aligned with best practices and regulatory standards. Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans that meet residents' unique needs, preferences, and rights. Supervise nursing staff and caregiving teams, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes professional development, team management, and effective communication. Ensure compliance with all applicable health regulation policies, including HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and Medicare requirements. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and accurate reporting to maintain regulatory compliance and support quality improvement initiatives. Manage operational aspects such as shift management, staffing schedules, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize unit efficiency. Monitor resident health status through patient care assessments, physiology knowledge application, and patient monitoring techniques to promptly address changes in condition. Lead quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing resident safety, satisfaction, and overall care standards within the memory care environment. Requirements Extensive experience in assisted living environments or specialized dementia care settings; prior home health or hospice care experience is highly desirable. Proven management experience with a focus on supervising healthcare teams in acute or long-term care facilities. Strong knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards. Demonstrated expertise in nursing leadership roles with proficiency in medical terminology, documentation review, and medical records management. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient patient data management and documentation accuracy. Background in critical care or perioperative care is advantageous; experience with surgical nursing or case management is beneficial. Exceptional leadership skills complemented by effective managerial communication and project leadership capabilities.
