Job Description

Full-time Monday - Friday (4 day work week option will be considered with 10 hour days) 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Salary Exempt position. The Manager of Acute & Emergency Departments is a key nursing leadership role responsible for the overall management, coordination, and performance of the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Nursing services at Holton Community Hospital, a rural Critical Access Hospital (CAH). This position provides operational, clinical, and administrative oversight for emergency, inpatient acute, outpatient, and swing bed nursing services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care that is compliant with all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements. This manager serves as an integral member of the acute nursing leadership team, working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Med/Surg leadership, physicians, EMS, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow, continuity of care, staff development, and operational excellence. The role also serves as the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Registrar, maintaining the hospital's Level IV Trauma designation and ensuring compliance with
EMTALA, CMS
Conditions of Participation, and Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) requirements Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required. At least one (1) year of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing or valid multistate compact license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within six months of hire.
