Duties Lead and supervise nursing staff during the day shift, ensuring effective team management and communication. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans. Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, catheter care, tube feeding, and other clinical procedures following strict protocols. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and nursing policies to maintain legal and ethical standards. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes. Maintain thorough medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or Epic; ensure documentation accuracy. Conduct physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and vital signs assessments while managing acute care needs including ventilator use or ICU protocols when necessary. Requirements Valid RN (Registered Nurse) license with current state licensure. Proven leadership experience in nursing management or supervisory roles within hospital medicine or long-term care settings. Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center exposure; familiarity with Level II Trauma Center standards preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth; experience with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding essential for medical documentation. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in IV insertion, catheterization, sterile technique, phlebotomy, and infection control practices. Ability to manage complex patient cases involving behavioral health, dementia care (Memory Care), geriatrics, pediatric (including PICU), neonatal ventilator support or neonatal care as needed. Excellent managerial communication skills with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams; adept at managing care facility teams while ensuring compliance with long-term care regulations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with familiarity in managing medical records and discharge planning processes. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; capable of performing physical examinations and assisting with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts when required.
