In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care for surgical patients, guiding them through pre- and post-operative phases. You will lead daily clinical workflows, mentor staff, and act as a key resource for evidence-based practice. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver nursing care for general surgery patients across pre- and post-operative phases. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff on the surgical unit. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices. Oversee patient education on procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions. Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate concerns promptly. Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice on the unit. Assist with staffing coordination, workflow management, and throughput. Document all care accurately in the electronic health record.
