PRN Job Overview Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our nursing team on a PRN basis. The Charge Nurse provides direct nursing care while overseeing the day-to-day activities of nursing assistants and helping ensure residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centered care. This role is ideal for a nurse who is confident in clinical decision-making, enjoys leading a team, and wants the flexibility of PRN scheduling. Beaver Dam is a 58-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving Beaver Dam and the surrounding area. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and oversee nursing assistants during the assigned shift. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility procedures. Assess residents and promptly communicate changes in condition to physicians, families, and appropriate clinical leadership. Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and resident care activities. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Ensure resident care plans and physician orders are followed. Monitor medication, treatment, narcotic, and clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance. Provide guidance and support to CNAs while promoting teamwork and accountability. Respond to resident needs and assist with clinical procedures as appropriate. Support quality assurance, infection prevention, resident safety, and regulatory compliance. Requirements:
Requirements Current, unencumbered Kentucky RN or LPN license . Current CPR certification. Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to supervise and support nursing assistants effectively. Ability to prioritize resident needs and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and work collaboratively with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged standing/walking and lifting, pushing, pulling, or transferring 50 pounds or more as needed.
