Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Veterans Affairs Location 100 Veterans Drive Wilmore, KY 40390 USA Description The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Veterans. Our mission is to Serve Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. The Charge Nurse (RN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. The hours for the position are 7pm-7am. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Supervises professional ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of residents and makes recommendations to the Nursing Administrator and Nurse Shift Supervisor. Assesses, plans and interventions, and evaluates care of residents. Participates in care planning process. Participates in all aspects of direct care including responding to emergency situations. Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules. Participates in staff education and serves as a preceptor in New Employee Orientation. Reassigns staff according to resident acuity. Performs other duties as required.
