This is a promotional opportunity for current LA Department of Corrections employees who have permanent status and are ready to advance in their career. Rayburn Correctional Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented RN Supervisor A. This position plays a vital role in supervising the care provided to inmates within the facilities infirmary, provides clinical support to assigned staff for complex procedures, and supervises the screening process of new intakes. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgement, and a commitment to providing high quality health care for the inmates housed at RCC. Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse. Job Duties:
Oversees prescribed medication administered to the inmate population during pill call hours. Supervises the performance of sick call and self-declared emergencies for inmates and for staff. Conducts daily shift inventories of supplies and controlled supplies. Provides IV therapy and IV functions with medication administration. Supervises Licensed Practical Nurse in the administration of nursing care to inmates.

LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES
(Adult DOC) The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted, or may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Compensation:
This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $39.12 per hour. This position also offers P remium Pay of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.
