The RN Evening Supervisor is responsible for providing care for the residents by communicating with others to ensure the continuation of quality care while making rounds and evaluating/addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of the residents. As a supervisory role, this position is also responsible for supervising and training assigned staff on the unit to ensure quality care expectations are met. Summary of Responsibilities:

Receives report from the off going shift. Reviews communication systems to be knowledgeable of any unusual occurrences during the previous shifts. Assigns Nursing Assistants and other designated personnel assuring each resident's needs will be met during the assigned shift. Gives report to Nursing Assistants. Makes rounds of the assigned unit frequently during the shift providing intervention as needed. During the entire shift, will be attune to needs of the unit while doing other nursing tasks. Prepares and administers medications as ordered. Reorders medications as needed in preparation for future shifts. Assesses and documents medication issues as per policy. Provides special procedures as ordered. Completes the treatments as ordered. Assesses and documents, new and old areas of treatment describing in detail the results of staff action and the results of treatment. Prepares a weekly skin report for the DON. Contacts the physician for any areas not responding positively and timely. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed. Qualified candidates will have the following : Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
