The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Nursing Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership and direct supervision to nursing staff across our Medical Home teams, balancing hands-on patient care with oversight of quality, compliance, and staff development, while supporting our mission to advance health equity and provide high-quality, patient-centered care to Boston's diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision to Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, including hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development Oversee clinical operations across Adult Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Wellness, and Specialty Clinics Lead clinical workforce planning and scheduling based on staff competency and departmental needs Serve as Infection Control Officer, overseeing infection control, emergency preparedness, and Joint Commission compliance Provide direct patient care and clinical consultation, dedicating approximately half of work time to clinical practice Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team on clinical audits, outcome analyses, and quality improvement initiatives Develop and implement onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education plans for nursing staff Participate in annual budget preparation and ensure compliance with approved budgets
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited college or university Minimum of 5 years of post-RN clinical experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership or management role Current, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license; current BLS certification; working knowledge of EMR systems Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams Join Our Team!
