Role Description The Assistant Living Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the assisted living community, ensuring that residents receive quality care and support in a safe environment. This contract, on-site role in Fort Washington, MD includes supervising staff schedules, monitoring caregiving activities, and supporting compliance with state regulations and facility policies. The Assistant Living Manager coordinates resident admissions, assessments, and care plans, communicates with families and healthcare providers, and assists with incident reporting and documentation. Additional responsibilities may include supporting budgeting and inventory, contributing to training and performance feedback for staff, and helping maintain a positive, person-centered atmosphere for residents and team members. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; 80 hours ALM certification, additional training in nursing Medication technician, and healthcare administration is preferred. Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or related residential care settings, with knowledge of daily operations and resident care coordination. Skills in staff supervision, scheduling, and team leadership, including the ability to coach, support, and hold team members accountable. Strong organizational and documentation abilities, with attention to detail in recordkeeping, incident reports, and regulatory compliance. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents, families, staff, and healthcare professionals in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner. Understanding of relevant state regulations, safety standards, and basic infection control practices in assisted living environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond calmly to emergencies, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced care setting. Basic computer literacy for using electronic records, email, and scheduling or management systems. Availability to work on-site in Fort Washington, MD, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
