A Charge Nurse supervises and supports a nursing staff, while also treating a limited number of patients. Evaluates other nurses and acts as an educational resource for nurses. Provides guidance on administering care to new patients or those with special needs and answers questions regarding protocol. Directs admission, discharge and general flow of patients.

Supervises, directs, and evaluates team members. Ensures effective use of personnel, equipment, and resources. Maintains efficient department operations and patient care standards. Provides direct patient care as needed within scope of practice. Monitors patient care plans and directs necessary adjustments. Collaborates with physicians and staff to promote positive patient outcomes. Supports a safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care environment. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Current and valid state RN License Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Previous one year of charge nurse experience in Med Surg setting required.
