In this vital role, you will lead patient assessments, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and coordinate care plans to promote optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will support clinical teams by providing guidance, ensuring quality standards are met, and fostering a compassionate environment for diverse patient populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through leadership and clinical excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments during supervisory visits, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Review and ensure medical documentation accuracy, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, medical records, and nursing notes in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. Supervise nursing staff by providing guidance on nursing policy compliance, medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and sterile techniques. Coordinate discharge planning, long-term care regulations adherence, and case management activities for patients across various settings including long-term care facilities and hospitals. Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory experience or medical imaging as needed; manage complex cases involving critical & intensive care or trauma patients from Level I & II Trauma Centers. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws while managing patient information securely. Lead team management efforts by supervising nursing teams, facilitating communication with multidisciplinary providers, and supporting staff development initiatives. Skills Extensive experience working with Epic EMR systems and other EHR platforms like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Critical care experience including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), neonatal ventilator management, and ventilator support. Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiological assessment techniques, and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Strong understanding of hospital medicine practices such as infection control, airway management, tube feeding, catheterization, phlebotomy, suturing, and specimen collection/processing. Skilled in managing care for diverse populations including geriatrics with dementia or Alzheimer's disease; pediatric patients from neonatal to toddler stages; individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Demonstrated leadership in nurse management roles with supervising experience in medical-surgical units or long-term care facilities. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with familiarity in ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like gastric lavage or spinal tap. Ability to perform physical examinations accurately while utilizing triage skills for patient assessment; experience with medical documentation and discharge planning processes. Competence in managing complex cases involving acute pain management or chronic conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular issues; familiarity with utilization review and utilization management protocols.
