Supervises and participates in the provision of nursing care utilizing auxiliary personnel. Contributes to the administrative functioning of the nursing unit(s) by acting as a twelve-hour Charge Nurse. Provides direct and indirect patient care and administers medications. Responsible to Registered Nurse Manager 2. The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

See instructions for attaching files here: Instructions All staff with start dates on/after 08/17/2026 will train at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Northville but, upon completion of training may work at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital (WRPH) until their position/classification officially moves from WRPH to SMPH at a date yet to be determined. Education Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing. Experience One year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11. Possession of a master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11; or, possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.
