House Supervisor Mercy, a leading healthcare organization serving the Midwest, is seeking a House Supervisor to oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts. In this role, you will coordinate patient flow, ensure adequate staffing, and provide on-site clinical leadership across units. You will support nursing staff, collaborate with physicians and department leaders, and respond to emergencies, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities Provide on-site leadership for hospital operations during assigned shifts Coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges across units Supervise and support nursing and clinical staff, addressing escalated issues Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and support services to resolve operational challenges Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments to meet patient acuity and census needs Respond to emergencies and critical incidents, guiding clinical and operational response Support patient and family relations, resolving concerns in a timely, compassionate manner Document shift activities, incidents, and key operational decisions Mentor staff, support professional development, and reinforce Mercy's mission and values Required Skills Acute care nursing Clinical leadership Hospital operations management Patient flow coordination Staff supervision and scheduling Emergency response and crisis management Regulatory and safety compliance Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Quality and performance improvement Interdisciplinary collaboration
