Nurse Manager - LDRP/Nursery
Job Description
The LDRP/Nursery Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, clinical operations, staffing, quality, and performance of the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. This position provides direct oversight of nursing practice and patient care delivery while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, evidence-based practice, and compassionate family-centered care. The Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians, nurse practitioners, anesthesia, ancillary departments, and hospital leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care throughout the childbirth continuum. Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Experience Charge nurse, leadership, or supervisory experience required. Nurse manager experience preferred. Relevant clinical experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and maternal-child health preferred. Experience with quality improvement, staff development, budgeting, and regulatory compliance preferred. Certification/Licensure Current MS Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Current
CPR, ACLS & NRP
certifications. Certification such as RNC-OB, C-EFM, or another relevant maternal-child health certification preferred. Special Qualifications Strong clinical judgement and critical-thinking skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in high-acuity situations. Knowledge of maternal and newborn care standards. Ability to manager staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental resources. Ability to analyze quality and operational data and develop improvement startegies. Proficiency with electronic medical records and common healthcare technology. Ability to foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships across disciplines.
