The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of medical procedures, and experience working with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or hospice care. This role involves supervising medication distribution, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting nursing staff to deliver high-quality care. Responsibilities Supervise daily medication administration, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescribed protocols Oversee nursing staff and caregiving team members during shifts, providing guidance and support Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping Monitor vital signs, assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other patient care activities as needed Assist in training staff on medical procedures, use of medical equipment, and documentation standards Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure proper medication management and patient safety Maintain a clean, safe environment in accordance with healthcare standards and facility policies Support patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments through compassionate care practices Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records and ensure timely updates Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols Experience working with people with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and support caregiving staff effectively Valid certification as a Med Tech or similar credential required; additional nursing or caregiving certifications are advantageous Ability to work both 1st and 2nd shifts as needed; flexibility to cover shift changes when necessary Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
