  • Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse
  • Unit Manager to lead and coordinate nursing care within a dynamic healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As the Unit Manager, you will oversee daily operations, supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a collaborative team atmosphere. This role offers an opportunity to influence patient outcomes positively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive supervision and management of nursing staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care delivery. Develop staffing schedules, monitor performance, and facilitate ongoing training to promote professional growth within the team. Oversee patient assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs, medical history, and physiological data using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, long-term care regulations, and nursing policy standards across all operations. Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration for complex cases involving critical care, behavioral health, geriatrics, or specialized units such as ICU or PICU. Manage medical documentation including
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for billing and record accuracy; oversee medication administration and IV infusion protocols. Lead quality assurance initiatives including infection control practices, patient safety protocols, and discharge planning processes. Facilitate communication between staff members, patients, families, and healthcare providers to promote a positive care environment. Qualifications Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification; additional management certification preferred. Extensive clinical experience in acute care settings such as ICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), or hospital medicine environments. Proven leadership experience in nurse management or supervising multidisciplinary teams within long-term care or assisted living facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical terminology and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10). Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations including
HIPAA, OSHA
standards, and long-term care policies. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), or individuals with developmental disabilities. Competence in critical procedures such as airway management, catheterization, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining compliance with nursing policies and safety standards.
