POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides supervision, training and guidance to registered nurses at all houses and Day Program in the Hudson Valley. Works in conjunction with community living management staff to ensure necessary support is in place for the delivery of health care services to consumers.
B. POSITION DUTIES
1. Assists the Director of Nursing on supervising all nursing staff, orients new staff on each shift, and holds regularly scheduled supervisory meetings to ensure delivery of quality health care to consumers. Responsible for ongoing evaluations of nursing staff. 2. With the assistance of RN Case Managers and DSP-NCC's, obtains health care services for consumers 3. Assists the Director of Nursing with overseeing all aspects of medical care, including primary and specialty medical care. 4. Assists the Director of Nursing with reviewing of all nursing documentation including Plans of Nursing Services (PONS), quarterly nursing assignments, monthly and as needed consumer notes. Reviews all medically related information including dietary notes, pharmacy reviews, and clinic summaries. 5. Has ongoing communication with health care practitioners regarding the medical and clinical needs of the consumer including rehabilitation specialists, hospital personnel, primary/specialty physicians, dietary, DSP-NCC's, AMAP, and DSP's 6. Integrates residential nursing services with day nursing services. 7. Coordinates health care strategies, recommendations, and follow-ups. Works with RN Case Managers, facility management, clinics, day programs, hospitals and other service providers. Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure that all supports necessary to meet consumers health needs are in place. 8. Conducts various training including orientation, AMAP, Infection Control, Emergency Preparedness, and those geared towards nursing and staff development issues especially concentrating on the special needs of medically frail consumers. 9. Attends meetings and sets up committees as needed or assigned. 10. Provides on-call supervision to nursing staff on a 24-hour basis and on weekends according to a triage schedule with other nursing supervisors. 11. Participates in the on-call rotation as needed 12. Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting in developing policies, procedures and forms and agency-wide systems for the delivery of health care.

REQUIREMENTS
1. BSN NYS Registered Nurse with five years nursing experience. 2. Supervisory and/or IDD experience preferred. 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 4. Ability to work flexible hours and/or days.
D. SUPERVISES
Assists Director of Nursing with supervision of RN Case Managers, Appointment Scheduler, and DSP-NCC staff
