Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Responsible for assisting students in promotion, remediation, retention and success initiatives. Development of courses for student success in nursing. Ability to teach nursing courses as needed to assist in success initiatives. Participation in conferences and meetings to stay current in nursing initiatives.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the mission and goals of the college.
- Complies with accreditation policies and procedures as applicable.
- Contributes to the development, implementation and revisions of curriculum within the scope of the philosophy and objectives of the Program in area of specialization.
- Develops and teaches specified course content.
- Assists individual students with success initiatives
- Prepares, administers, grades and analyzes examinations and student performance.
- Reviews, evaluates and requisitions textbooks and related instructional materials in accordance with the department and college procedures.
- Maintains and reviews student evaluations and grades with students and faculty.
- Assists in test review committee to help faculty develop NCLEX/focused exams
- Assists in the use of the online HESI products for students
- Arranges live review at end of each semester
- Seeks out new products and ideas for student success
- Assists with the development of simulation for success in the program
- Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with all persons associated with the Program.
- Oversees the Clinical Education Coordinator
- Participates as an active member of the College and Health Science Division related committees.
- Participates in professional educational programs by attending workshops, conferences and meetings.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth through membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Ability to plan, strategize, and coordinate effectively. Competent in communication and leadership skills. Accountable, dependable, and trustworthy. Experience assisting students with test-taking skills for nursing, study skills, and time management Experience assisting beginning students with success skills A student-centered philosophy for educational success Excellent writing skills and knowledge of APA format Knowledge of nursing curricula and the NCLEX test planINSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
