  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of perioperative nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery center, operating room, or surgical services setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • CNOR certification preferred or within one year of hire
Job Description:
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical and operational functions of the surgery center to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care. This role provides leadership and supervision to nursing and clinical staff while maintaining compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Responsibilities, but not limited to the following:
  • Oversee daily clinical operations of the ambulatory surgery center to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, surgical technicians, and clinical personnel, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, OSHA, CMS, QUAD A, DOH and infection prevention standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate patient flow, operating room scheduling, staffing assignments, and perioperative activities to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain and enforce policies, procedures, and clinical protocols related to perioperative nursing care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, incident reports, quality metrics, and risk management initiatives; implement corrective action plans when needed.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, administration, and interdisciplinary teams to support operational goals and patient safety initiatives.
  • Manage inventory, supplies, medications, and equipment to ensure availability and cost-effective utilization.
  • Participate in budgeting, expense management, and resource planning for the clinical department.
  • Lead staff education, competency assessments, orientation programs, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation, chart audits, and adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Respond to patient concerns, clinical emergencies, and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support accreditation surveys, regulatory inspections, and quality improvement programs.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional patient-centered care.
  • Assist with strategic planning, workflow improvements, and implementation of new clinical initiatives or technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory surgery workflows, infection control, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems, scheduling systems, and quality management processes.
