The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a Unit Manager, you will oversee daily operations, supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in patient outcomes. Duties Provide clinical oversight and leadership for nursing staff, ensuring adherence to nursing policies and best practices. Coordinate patient care activities across various units, including medical-surgical, geriatrics, behavioral health, and critical care settings. Supervise staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to maintain a motivated and competent team. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards such as NCQA standards. Oversee documentation accuracy within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to maintain precise medical records. Facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient care pathways. Monitor patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation to uphold safety and quality standards. Promote infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections across the unit. Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification. Extensive clinical experience in acute care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; critical care experience preferred. Proven leadership or nurse management experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in long-term care or hospital settings. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is essential. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse patient populations. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; dementia or memory care experience is advantageous. Ability to manage complex cases involving ventilator management, IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, and other advanced procedures.
