Initial 13-week assignment with potential for extension and possible longer-term opportunity Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager - Oncology & Infusion Services for a leadership opportunity with a well-established acute care hospital in Far Rockaway, Queens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced oncology nurse leader to oversee the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of an oncology and infusion service line. The ideal candidate will bring strong oncology expertise, proven leadership skills, and experience supporting high-quality, patient-centered cancer care. Position Overview The Nurse Manager will provide leadership for oncology nursing and infusion operations, ensuring safe, evidence-based care while supporting staff development, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, patient flow, and quality improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical and operational leadership for oncology and infusion nursing services Oversee daily staffing, patient assignments, treatment readiness, workflows, and department operations Maintain safe practices surrounding chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, biologics, transfusions, and supportive treatments Ensure compliance with treatment protocols, medication-safety standards, hazardous-drug handling requirements, infection-prevention practices, and regulatory standards Provide leadership and rapid intervention during infusion reactions, adverse events, and other high-risk clinical situations Recruit, onboard, coach, evaluate, and support nursing and clinical staff Promote ongoing staff education, competency validation, professional development, and oncology certification Monitor patient flow, appointment access, infusion-chair utilization, wait times, and discharge processes Collaborate closely with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, surgery, palliative care, social work, and other interdisciplinary teams Manage staffing resources, departmental budgets, overtime, supplies, equipment, and pharmaceutical resource utilization Lead quality-improvement initiatives, clinical audits, incident reviews, corrective-action plans, and performance-improvement projects Review clinical outcomes, patient-satisfaction data, safety metrics, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred Current RN license in good standing Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing and/or infusion therapy Previous nursing leadership or management experience preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe Strong knowledge of oncology treatment protocols, infusion safety, medication administration, patient safety, and regulatory standards Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Why Consider This Opportunity?
