Responsibilities The Obstetrics (OB) Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination of patient care and patient flow. The OB Nurse Manager consults with staff, physicians and other hospital Leaders to ensure patient needs are met and quality outcomes are achieved. The OB Nurse Manager works under the direction of the Nursing Director. This positon plays an integral role in patient flow, throughput and clinical operations. The OB Nurse Manager assists in overseeing all Performance Improvement activities. The OB Nurse Manager maintains oversight and monitoring of plans for improvement of clinical services; patient satisfaction and employee engagement. The OB Nurse Manager collaborates and problem solves with the Nursing Administrator, physicians, Department Heads and house supervision to assure that patient care needs as related to other departments/disciplines are met. Qualifications Minimum Education:

Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Minimum Experience:

Five years of clinical experience including two years in area of specialization; one year in nursing leadership position preferred.

Required Certification/Registration:

Ongoing Current RN Registration BLS required at hire or transfer until ACLS obtained if applicable. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained. NRP upon hire or Obstetrics and/or transfer;Evidence of Fetal Monitoring course completion prior to orientation completion;C-EFM within 18 months for new hires/transfers
