At our 60-bed hospital, we provide inpatient rehabilitative services to our patients who are often recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions. We are seeking a Nurse Manager to join our team of passionate patient caregivers!
Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the coordination, supervision, and clinical oversight of nursing services within our inpatient rehabilitation unit in collaboration with Chief Nursing Officer. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and evidence-based practices. The Nurse Manager serves as a mentor and resource to nursing staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a culture of teamwork. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, the Nurse Manager facilitates optimal patient outcomes through effective communication, staff development, resource management, and continuous performance improvement. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, healing environment where patients recovering from complex medical conditions, surgeries, or trauma receive comprehensive rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The Nurse Manager actively contributes to strategic planning, staffing, quality initiatives, and regulatory readiness to support the hospital's mission of restoring function and improving lives.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the staffing and administration of assigned unit. Supervises the caliber of treatment and care of the patients. Integrates the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice. Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Required Skills:
Current, valid, and active state Registered Nurse license in the state of employment required. Current CPR certification required. Two years relevant experience required. Three years' experience in a hospital nurse supervisory or management position preferred.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards of practice. Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS. Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures. Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
Demonstrates general computer skills including:
data entry, word processing, email, and record management. Demonstrates critical thinking skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates leadership skills with clinical and non-clinical staff. Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality. Ability to work closely and professionally with others. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
