Hours may vary based on departmental needs and include weekends, holidays, off-shift coverage, and on-call responsibilities. Serves as a unit-based resource supporting the RN Nurse Manager in maintaining safe, effective operations and continuity of care across all shifts. Summary:
Serves as a unit-based resource that supports the RN Nurse Manager in the patient care operations for a designated area(s) on a 24-hour basis; plans and develops tactical short, mid- and long-term goals and processes to enhance and improve the operations of the unit to support Summa Health's mission, vision and values; identify barriers to meeting goals; manages, guides, coaches, and evaluates the work performance of patient care staff in a designated area; collaborates with other patient care departments and areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services; assists with the management of unit budget plans; assists with calculating a return on investment for unit initiatives; participates in development of evidence-based standards of practice; identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes.
Formal Education Required:
a. Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) b. BSN required Master's degree preferred c. Clinical Certification preferred or required to obtain within two (2) years d. Current license to practice nursing in the
State of Ohio Experience & Training Required:
a. Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience and demonstrated leadership qualities

Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. h. Retains professional certification in nursing administration or clinical area. i. Meet mandatory educational and health requirements. j. Maintains and seeks new knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols. k. Demonstrates computer skills required to perform job functions
