Work Schedule:
Full Time Days
  • (72 hours bi-weekly) 7:00am
  • 7:30pm Every 3rd weekend rotation Holiday rotation The 6200 Medical-Surgical Unit at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital is a dynamic 38-bed unit specializing in urology care .
Patients admitted to this unit often face urological conditions, such as infections and other complications, but our team also treats a wide range of medical patients with complex needs, including diabetes management, and more. The 6200 unit offers a unique environment for both new graduates and seasoned nurses to expand their clinical expertise, focusing on skill development, time management, and the care of diverse patient populations. Nurses on this unit bring advanced technical knowledge in the field of urology, supported by an in-depth understanding of related pathophysiology and the ability to interpret complex lab results. Committed to fostering a positive learning environment, the 6200 unit is rooted in professional growth and continuous improvement , proudly affiliated with leading organizations like the ANCC, ANA, American Society of Urology, and the American Society of Nephrology. Job Requirements:
Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
ACLS/PALS
may be required but is dependent on unit or department ECG interpretation competency and ACLS certification within 12 months of assuming role. Maintains ECG competency and ACLS certification while in role. Registered Nurse licensure Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle Minimum of 2-3 years Clinical in Nursing experience Previous charge or lead experience strongly preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates daily patient care with the healthcare team and acts as a resource for standards, policies, and clinical procedures. Identifies patient care issues and supports instructors, students, and staff by aligning assignments with patient needs and team competencies. Participates in unit committees, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of evidence ‑ based best practices. Performs and directs specialty ‑ specific nursing skills, executes physician orders accurately, and delegates tasks appropriately to ensure safe patient care. Supports department operations, orients temporary or float staff, and facilitates efficient patient flow through the system. Demonstrates strong communication, critical thinking, and accountability while fostering collaborative relationships with physicians and team members. Promotes staff development through mentoring, continuing education, performance feedback, and serving as a professional role model.
