Position:
Nurse Supervisor Job Description:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of nursing personnel and the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. They are the nurse's eyes and ears, and are responsible for ensuring that the nursing team is functioning properly, that patients receive the care that is right for their health and well-being, and that the facility is clean and safe. The Nurse Supervisor reports to the Director of Nursing, and works under the direction of the RN/LVN Manager.
Essential Functions:
  • Supervise nursing personnel during shifts to ensure that they are performing their duties in accordance with Normandy Care Center policies and procedures, federal, state and local regulations, and Normandy Care Center standards of care.
  • Understands Normandy Care Center patient care guidelines to ensure that patients are receiving the highest quality of care.
  • Assist with orientation of new nurses to set up shifts.
  • Assist with hiring new nurses, supervising training of new hires, scheduling of new nurses based on patient needs, and ensuring that all new hires meet Normandy Care Center staffing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding licensing and certification.
  • Understands infection control guidelines and sets up schedules for infection control personnel.
  • Coordinates care plan evaluation processes with other nurses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience as a nurse supervisor or in a supervisory role in a long-term care facility or other healthcare setting required; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
Job Type:

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
