Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate 2-10 Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities Provide hands-on leadership by overseeing daily nursing operations across multiple units, ensuring seamless patient flow and safety. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices. Coordinate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA privacy standards and NCQA accreditation requirements. Manage complex clinical situations involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, or critical care scenarios such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center cases. Facilitate effective triage processes for incoming patients, prioritizing urgent needs while maintaining high standards of patient assessment and safety protocols. Oversee documentation accuracy in medical records, including ICD-10 coding, medical documentation, and medical records management. Support quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical data and implementing best practices related to hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient care. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration; BSN preferred. Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience working with Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in medical terminology and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10). Demonstrated expertise in specialized areas such as emergency room medicine, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology procedures like botulinum toxin treatment, or long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Hands-on experience with advanced clinical skills including IV infusion, suturing, catheterization (including Foley and central lines), ventilator management, tube feeding, sterile technique, phlebotomy, and aseptic procedures. Critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex cases involving trauma medicine, neonatal resuscitation procedures, hospice & palliative medicine or behavioral health issues. Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and patient interactions across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (including memory care), individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Knowledge of occupational health protocols and experience working within hospital standards such as NCQA standards is preferred.
