Job Description

Mercy seeks an Ada Float Pool nurse to deliver exceptional patient care across multiple hospital units. In this versatile role, you'll respond to varying staffing needs, caring for diverse patient populations and acuity levels. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, timely medication administration, accurate EMR documentation, and active collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. You'll educate patients and families, uphold safety and infection control standards, and adapt quickly to new environments-supporting Mercy's mission of compassionate, high-quality care while growing your clinical skills. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care across multiple inpatient units based on staffing needs Assess, monitor, and document patient status and responses to treatment Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and protocols Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop care plans Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge instructions Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation and follow hospital policies Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards Rapidly adapt to different unit workflows, acuity levels, and patient populations Participate in huddles, handoffs, and communication to ensure continuity of care Support orientation of new staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture Required Skills Acute care nursing Patient assessment Medication administration Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation IV therapy and line management Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Care planning and care coordination Infection prevention and control Emergency response and triage skills Patient and family education
