Salaried clinical and leadership position VNA Family Health Center is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to provide patient care while leading the stabilization, growth, and financial improvement of an established community-based primary care practice. Our mission is to provide every patient with the quality of care we would want for our own families. To continue fulfilling that mission, the clinic must also operate as a financially responsible and sustainable practice. We must provide appropriate care, document and bill accurately, collect payment for services rendered, manage expenses, and maintain sufficient patient volume. We are looking for someone who understands that excellent care and sound business practices must work together-and who wants the opportunity to help build a thriving practice.
The Opportunity The clinic offers:
An established patient population Existing clinical space, equipment, systems, and staff Two experienced part-time nurse practitioners Medicaid, Medicare, and managed-care payer relationships Centralized HR, fiscal, compliance, IT, billing, and administrative support Direct access to executive leadership Meaningful authority to improve operations and shape the clinic's future This is not a provider-only position. The Clinical Practice Director will be accountable for both patient care and clinic performance. Primary Responsibilities Provide primary care to pediatric and adult patients Lead daily clinic operations, patient flow, staffing, and schedules Increase appropriately scheduled and completed patient visits Improve patient access, retention, and continuity of care Establish clear productivity and performance expectations Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and timely Work with billing staff to improve clean claims, collections, denials, and accounts receivable Ensure billable services are properly documented and submitted Monitor revenue, expenses, staffing costs, and operating performance Strengthen compliance, quality, medication, vaccine, laboratory, and referral processes Develop and implement a practical 90-day turnaround and growth plan Provide regular performance reports and recommendations to executive leadership Qualifications Current Pennsylvania CRNP license and Family Nurse Practitioner certification Prescriptive authority and ability to meet payer-enrollment requirements Primary-care experience with pediatric and adult patients Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed-care populations Outpatient practice leadership or management experience Working knowledge of billing, documentation, denials, credentialing, and compliance Ability to understand financial and operational reports Demonstrated ability to improve patient volume, operations, collections, or practice performance Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills We are seeking an operator as well as a clinician. Candidates should be prepared to describe a practice or program they improved, the actions they took, and the measurable results achieved. Position Structure The position is expected to include: Two days of direct patient care One protected day for leadership and practice improvement Approximately 24 salaried hours per week Collaboration with two existing part-time nurse practitioners A formal 90-day performance and turnaround review Potential for additional hours as patient demand and financial performance improve Future Opportunity The successful candidate will have a meaningful role in shaping the clinic's staffing, services, operations, growth, and long-term direction. If the individual demonstrates successful leadership, improves the clinic's clinical and financial performance, and establishes a strong working relationship with the organization, there may be an opportunity to explore a longer-term operating or partnership arrangement.
