As an RN Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision and leadership to nursing staff during assigned shifts, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Ensure adherence to nursing policies, procedures, and safety standards while managing care plans for patients with complex needs including critical care, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, and long-term care. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes. Supervise medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, tube feeding management, and other specialized nursing interventions including ventilator management and sterile techniques. Maintain accurate medical records utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as PCC; ensure compliance with documentation standards like
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding. Manage staffing schedules, monitor performance metrics, and support ongoing staff education to promote professional growth and compliance with state healthcare regulations. Respond promptly to emergent situations including airway management or acute pain episodes while demonstrating proficiency in advanced life support techniques. Skills Extensive clinical experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is essential. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including PCC; strong medical documentation skills aligned with NCQA standards. Knowledge of diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatric (including neonatal ventilator management), individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Expertise in medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, catheterization, suturing, specimen collection/processing, and infection control practices. Leadership skills demonstrated through supervising nursing teams within medical-surgical units or long-term care facilities; experience managing care facility teams is advantageous. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and state-specific long-term care regulations; ability to ensure policy compliance consistently. Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination, patient assessment discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Physiology knowledge relevant to acute & intensive care settings; ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations accurately.
