The team at Siskin Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a House Supervisor for rotating weekend shifts This position assists the Nurse Managers/CNO in providing direction and supervision for nursing unit operations as a member of the Nursing Management team. He or she will be responsible for the supervision of nursing unit staff for both Siskin East and Siskin West, and for ensuring that individualized nursing care is provided. The House Supervisor is responsible to ensure nursing units are in compliance with standards for accreditation and state/federal regulations and supports hospital operations in the absence of hospital administrators. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS
Education:
BSN preferred, ASN accepted, Nursing degree must be from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
Minimum of three years nursing experience, with a record of progressive supervisory/ management experience beyond staff levels. Previous experience in a physical rehabilitation setting in either a staff or management capacity preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current unrestricted RN Tennessee State licensure in nursing. Current CPR and ACLS certification. CRRN certification within 2 years of being hired. FIM certification - must obtain this within 90 days of being hired.
Skills/Competencies:
Good interpersonal skills with strong team orientation. Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into a cohesive and logical sequence for written work and oral presentation. Well founded knowledge base within the field of rehabilitation nursing to guide and support clinical and management decisions. Consistency and objectivity in dealing with supervisory and policy issues. Ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and creative problem solving. Ability to utilize computer system for documentation and medication administration. Ability to communicate effectively with CNO, Nurse Managers, Staff and patients/families.
