Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to lead and oversee nursing operations within a diverse healthcare setting. This pivotal role involves managing patient care delivery, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in patient outcomes. Responsibilities Provide leadership and supervision for nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development. Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure adherence to hospital policies, state healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards such as NCQA. Coordinate patient care activities across multiple units including critical care, medical-surgical, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, and long-term care settings. Ensure accurate medical documentation utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or Epic while maintaining compliance with HIPAA privacy laws. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, manage complex medical procedures like IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and tube feeding. Facilitate interdisciplinary communication to optimize patient outcomes through effective case management and discharge planning. Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical data, implementing best practices in infection control, medication administration, and nursing policy compliance. Support utilization review and management processes to ensure appropriate resource utilization while maintaining high standards of care. Qualifications Proven nursing leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Extensive clinical background in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I & II Trauma Centers; experience with trauma protocols is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Athenahealth; strong medical documentation skills are essential. In-depth knowledge of nursing practices related to acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, and long-term care regulations. Demonstrated expertise in medical procedures such as phlebotomy, suturing, sterile processing techniques, and specimen collection/processing. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like cardiac catheterization or spinal tap; experience with utilization review is preferred. Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment through managerial communication skills. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles relevant to patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), along with other relevant credentials such as ACLS or PALS if applicable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards necessary for safeguarding patient information.
