JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision and collaboration with the OR Manager; plans; organizes; directs and controls all activities involved in the effective; efficient; and economical utilization of material resources and personnel of the delegated specialty service; ensuring patient service is continuious and high quality. Responsible for orientation; training; and development of specialty service personnel. Responsible for streamlining the nursing intraoperative process for assigned service line or lines and for streamlining and maintaining preference cards of responsible service line(s). Relates effectively with perioperative team members for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units and participates in all phases of education; maintenance of records; and upgrading policies; procedures and skills of personnel. Registered Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities; surveys; and improvement initiatives. In addition; Registered Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree Minimum Work Experience 2 years of OR nursing experience. Required Licenses/Certifications Registered Nurse Certified Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Gastroenterology RN (CGRN) (effective 1/1/2019; must be certified within 12 months of hire in this position) Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 3-months of hire Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities Ability to direct others and negotiate for desired results. Ability to work well as part of the leadership team. Demonstrates decision-making and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills Clinical competency in OR.
