Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols. Coordinate patient care activities across units, ensuring timely assessments, treatments, and documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA. Manage urgent and complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, or trauma situations such as Level I or Level II trauma center protocols. Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists in geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and other healthcare providers. Ensure proper medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and sterile techniques are followed meticulously. Support discharge planning and coordinate with case management for post-acute care or home & community care services. Maintain compliance with healthcare standards including ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation requirements for medical records. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration; experience in critical care settings such as ICU or emergency room preferred. Proven leadership skills with prior experience as a Charge Nurse or in a supervisory nursing role. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical imaging and laboratory processes is advantageous. Strong background in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, tube feeding management, and infection control practices. Experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia such as Alzheimer's or memory care patients. Ability to handle high-pressure situations involving acute trauma or emergency medicine scenarios confidently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with patients' families while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
