Job Overview Kuno Haus is a new boutique assisted living and memory care home where every resident is known by name, routine, and what makes them them. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Director of Resident Care to join our leadership team and act as our designated ALF Manager per Texas licensing standards. In this role, you'll help build and operate our first community in Cypress, TX where we care for up to 16 residents in a warm, home-like environment. The ideal candidate for this role has prior leadership experience in an assisted living and/or memory care environment with an innovative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. We're small and we're new. That means fewer layers, a faster pace, and real influence over how our home operates. It also means the systems, policies and procedures aren't fully built yet and Kuno Haus is relying on the Director of Care to help get things off the ground, and cover the floor if needed. To learn more about our company, visit our website at https://kunohaus.com/ This position will report directly to the Owner/CEO, and primarily oversees and manages our day to day care operations. Responsibilities Team Leadership Help recruit, train and retain staff and assist with team building Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling to meet resident needs and operational requirements Assist with interviewing; train and/or coordinate training; and monitor performance of each caregiver on staff Recognize employee accomplishments and identify opportunities for professional development Foster a positive, respectful, team-oriented workplace culture Care Management Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and ensure required records are complete in the company's
EMAR/EHR
system Ensure each resident receives high-quality, personalized care consistent with their needs, preferences, service plans, and rights Oversee the medication administration program in partnership with our RN Regularly review and update resident care plans as needed Coordinate and communicate resident care with third party providers including but not limited to home health, hospice, physicians, and pharmacies Promote person-centered dementia care practices and a supportive environment for residents living with memory impairment Monitor resident satisfaction, quality indicators, incidents, complaints, and corrective actions Operations & Compliance Oversee day-to-day facility operations Maintain full regulatory compliance with HHSC licensing standards Keep personnel files, training records, and documentation current and audit-ready Help prepare the community for regulatory inspections, audits, licensing reviews, and surveys Promote a strong culture of safety, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and risk management Oversee incident reporting, investigation, follow-up, and corrective action Requirements Previous leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Senior Living, Healthcare, or a related environment Additional relevant certifications (e.g. CNA or CDP) are a plus Working knowledge of Texas ALF licensing standards Ability and willingness to work the floor and assist with resident care as needed (including ADLs, transfers, meal assistance, and general support) Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently, lead with empathy while maintaining accountability and operational discipline Must be at least 21 years old, pass background check and not listed on the Employee Misconduct Registry or Nurse Aide Registry Must complete and keep current ALF Manager course and ongoing training requirements per Texas licensing standards One of the following: An associate's degree in nursing or health care management A bachelor's degree in psychology, gerontology, nursing, or a related field Proof of high school graduation or equivalency and at least one year of experience working with persons with dementia Start date:

Monday - Friday 8a-5p with rotating weekends as Manager on Duty and on-call 24hrs
Pay:
$60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonuses
