Responsible for coordinating all nursing care for patients during the pre-operative phase of the peri-operative experience based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Performs nursing activities in the pre-operating room where the circulating nurse is the patient's advocate. Makes nursing assignments for team members based on level of experience and knowledge. Answers patient needs by assisting the physician and person responsible for anesthesia care. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports DHR vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures, as well as making suggestions for revision of same. Maintains open communication with all nursing staff to promote improvement in performance this position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS
:- Graduate of accredited school of nursing required
- Licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse
- BSN preferred, required within two years or hire
- Professional certification highly preferred
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification
- Charge Nurse experience, prefer
- Willingness to be crossed trained to other areas.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
:- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a charge nurse/supervisor coupled with three (3) years experience in the operating room preferred .
