A Charge Nurse supervises and supports a nursing staff, while also treating a limited number of patients. Evaluates other nurses and acts as an educational resource for nurses. Provides guidance on administering care to new patients or those with special needs and answers questions regarding protocol. Directs admission, discharge and general flow of patients.

Job Description

Considerable knowledge of the care and treatment of residents and special procedures that apply to practical nursing. Independently seek out resources and work collaboratively. Communicate clearly with residents and family members accordingly to the nursing plan of care. Use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up. Use computers and learn new software programs. Provide education with residents and family members (while in compliance with HIPAA). Assists in Nursing Home codes and CPR as required. Preform related duties as requested.
