Responsibilities for

Charge Nurse:

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders, individualized care plans, and accepted standards of nursing practice. Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Medication Aides, and other nursing staff to ensure quality resident care. Coordinate daily clinical operations and prioritize resident care needs throughout the shift. Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions accurately and safely. Assess residents, monitor changes in condition, and communicate significant findings to physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Respond to emergencies and provide clinical guidance to nursing staff during urgent situations. Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents, visitors, and team members. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations while supporting quality improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications for

Charge Nurse:

Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required. Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or healthcare setting preferred. Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred but not required. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise staff, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of nursing practices, state and federal regulations, infection prevention, and resident-centered care principles.
