Job Description

TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA is seeking a Clinical Coordinator Ortho Joint and Spine RN to lead and coordinate clinical care for orthopedic joint and spine patients. This role oversees patient flow, evidence-based nursing practice, and quality initiatives across the ortho/spine service line. The coordinator supports staff education, collaborates with surgeons, therapists, and case managers, and promotes safe transitions of care. Responsibilities include monitoring outcomes, refining clinical pathways, mentoring nurses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing a culture of compassion, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee clinical care for orthopedic joint and spine patients Lead and support nursing staff across the ortho/spine service line Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and case managers on patient plans Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality and safety initiatives Develop and refine clinical pathways and protocols for ortho/spine care Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Provide staff education, mentoring, and competency development Support discharge planning and safe transitions of care Participate in performance improvement and data tracking efforts Promote a patient-centered, compassionate, and team-oriented culture Required Skills Orthopedic and spine nursing care Care coordination and discharge planning Clinical leadership and staff mentoring Quality improvement and outcomes monitoring Patient and family education Interdisciplinary collaboration Electronic health records (EHR) proficiency Regulatory and policy compliance Pain management and post-surgical care Clinical pathway and protocol implementation
