Friendship is looking for a Unit Manager, RN or LPN to join our Friendship Health and Rehab South team, located on Starkey Road in Roanoke, VA. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the well- being and nursing care of all residents assigned under direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, ADON, or designee.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Direct all assignments for unit nursing staff including schedules, break and meal times, disciplinary action, and resident assignments Possess working knowledge of residents under his/her care. Records and reports any observations of resident, significant conditions, reactions and incidents to ADON, DON, designee, and /or physicians as required Transport/position residents using equipment (i.e. wheelchairs, mechanical lifts, etc.) Collaborate with nursing staff, other Team Leads, Director of Nursing to communicate resident conditions, care, and any other critical information across shifts and/or departments Order, prepare and administer medication, I.V's, or injections per physician orders; accurately records/reports these orders in residents chart Participates in all in-services required by Director of Nursing, designee, or facility Supervises completion of any and all accident reports Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth by Friendship and conveys these policies to nursing staffQualifications:
Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia required BLS required/ACLS preferred 4-6 years' nursing experience and supervisory experience, preferred Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines as they relate to long-term care This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
