Job Description

The Registered Nurse Supervisor (RN) is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of the nursing department within a skilled nursing facility. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care, supervises nursing staff, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, and supports interdisciplinary collaboration to promote resident health, safety, and well-being. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs during assigned shifts. Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and resident-centered care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes in health status. Provide clinical guidance, coaching, and support to nursing staff. Conduct rounds to assess resident care, safety, and staff performance. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members. Participate in care planning meetings and ensure implementation of individualized care plans. Address resident and family concerns in a professional and timely manner. Assist with staffing assignments and scheduling adjustments as needed. Ensure compliance with infection control practices and safety procedures. Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in facility audits. Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions. Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to federal regulations including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines for skilled nursing facilities. Maintain compliance with Wisconsin nursing practice standards set by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. Ensure facility practices align with oversight requirements from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation. Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey readiness. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
