Where You'll Work St. Thomas More Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is the cornerstone of health care services for Fremont County and surrounding southern Colorado communities. St. Thomas More offers 24 hour emergency and trauma services; inpatient acute care; intensive care; labor, delivery, and nursery care; multi-modal diagnostic imaging; inpatient and outpatient surgical services; rehabilitation services; cardiopulmonary rehab and diagnostics; sleep studies; an infusion center; wound care; and a community blood bank. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Nutrition Assistant I, you will participate in and support all aspects of healthcare foodservice operations. You will play an integral role in ensuring that our food service processes are carried out efficiently and effectively. Every day, you will work alongside facility staff to provide optimal nutritional care to our patients. Your contributions will help ensure that we meet the dietary and wellness needs of those we serve. To be successful in your role, you will demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff. Your commitment to a positive and professional experience is essential to supporting our team's mission. Follow healthcare foodservice industry standards and regulations, including monitoring food temperatures, preventing cross-contamination, and adhering to strict personal hygiene and sanitation requirements. Maintain proper labeling and storage protocols for all food products, equipment, and machinery in accordance with facility guidelines. Prepare and serve food based on menu and dietary requirements, utilizing necessary kitchen equipment while remaining knowledgeable of ingredients to address food allergy requests. Ensure a high-quality customer experience by following organizational standards for proper meal portioning and aesthetically pleasing presentation. Perform essential operational tasks, including cashiering, retail service, cold food preparation, and the assembly, delivery, and retrieval of patient trays. Complete necessary utility and maintenance assignments, such as dishwashing, catering support, inventory management, and general cleaning of equipment and work areas. Job Requirements Required High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience No experience necessary If a Food Handler Permit is a requirement by your state, county or local health code, you must obtain it within 30 days of hire or what is required by your state, county or local health code.
