Diet Tech Join Our Team at Luxe at Jupiter Rehabilitation Job Summary The Diet Tech works closely with the Registered Dietitian, nursing team, dietary department, and other healthcare professionals to support the nutritional needs of patients in our rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive to detail, comfortable communicating with patients and staff, and passionate about supporting quality patient care. Responsibilities Assist the Registered Dietitian with monitoring and documenting patient food intake. Review patient meal preferences, food likes and dislikes, allergies, and special dietary needs. Assist with menu planning and meal selections according to prescribed diets and patient preferences. Monitor patient meal intake and report concerns regarding poor intake, weight changes, or nutritional issues to the Registered Dietitian and appropriate healthcare staff. Assist with accurate food and nutrition documentation. Communicate diet orders and meal requirements with the dietary and nursing teams. Assist with ensuring patients receive meals and snacks according to their prescribed diet. Follow established therapeutic diet guidelines and facility policies. Participate in patient and family education regarding appropriate food choices when directed by the Registered Dietitian. Communicate with patients regarding meal preferences and satisfaction. Assist with identifying patients who may require additional nutritional support or follow-up. Maintain accurate and confidential nutrition-related records. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support individualized patient care plans. Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Dietetic Technician certification/credential required. Nutrition, dietetics, food service, healthcare, or related experience preferred. Previous experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, hospital, or long-term care setting is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Compassionate and professional approach to patient care. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential patient information.
