Job Description

Van Duyn Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is looking for a dedicated Diet Technician to join our dynamic team! The Diet Technician is responsible for the assessment and planning of the nutritional care of the facility's residents in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, policies and procedures to assist residents with meal. The Diet Technician is responsible for ensuring that quality food service and nutritional care is provided all residents at the facility. This position is supervised by the Director of Nutrition.
Diet Technicians Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Dietetics, food service or related field (required) Experience in long-term care or clinical field preferred Diet Technician Personal Attributes & Skills required: Selflessness and commitment to providing exceptional service Ability to collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of residents Ability to manage conflict, advise and coach staff and residents Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills Laser-sharp attention to detail and critical thinking skills Accountability, integrity, and courage Excellent computer skills Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for residents in a long-term care setting.
Diet Technician Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and crouch Ability to write, speak, read English language
