Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide coverage during a maternity leave for a 12-week period beginning in January. This role will primarily serve elementary-level students, with some involvement at the junior high level. The position offers flexibility in daily start and end times, allowing you to complete your 40-hour workweek between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Candidates will enjoy a dynamic work environment that includes collaboration with other professionals and the chance to supervise a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This assignment is ideal for OTs who are passionate about supporting students' developmental and educational goals in a school-based setting.
Qualifications:
Current Arizona Occupational Therapist (OT) license IVP Fingerprint clearance card (required) Previous school-based OT experience strongly preferred Experience with elementary student populations; familiarity with junior high level is a plus Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to provide supervision and direction to a
COTA Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive OT services to students, adapting plans to individual needs Work primarily with elementary classes, with some service to junior high Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEP goals, and maintain documentation Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals for student success Supervise and mentor a COTA, offering guidance and input as needed Participate in team meetings and contribute to positive outcomes This contract-based position gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while benefitting from flexible scheduling within the standard school day.
