Responsibilities:
Evaluate students to identify functional, developmental, sensory, fine motor, and self-care needs that impact educational performance. Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans in accordance with students' IEP goals. Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success. Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, evaluations, and therapy records in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications when appropriate. Monitor student progress and adjust therapy interventions based on outcomes and educational needs. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions regarding student services and accommodations. Support compliance with applicable special education regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Arizona, or ability to obtain prior to start date. Previous experience working with pediatric and/or school-aged populations preferred. Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and school-based therapy practices. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage documentation and maintain accurate records. Knowledge of assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and sensory integration strategies preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred, if required by the district.
