We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with specialized upper extremity experience to join our team on a part-time basis, with fulltime potential. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based treatments for patients recovering from upper extremity injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. Strongly prefer an OT with at least 1 year work experience, or at least 2000 hours of recent and direct 1:1 patient care, treating upper extremities and making custom splints. CHT (or CHT hopeful) highly preferred. This is not for an entry level position.
Requirements include:
have all the necessary continuing education hours needed. Excellent professional standing in all ways, as required by the State of California. Speak , write, and document clearly in English. Able to effectively & accurately document in EMR system, all aspects of patient care. Able to appropriately fabricate many types of small /large custom splints in a 10-20 minute time frame. Strong manual therapy skills, and excellent communication with patients and physicians regarding care. Work well in a small group and work independently. Be open to guidance, learning, and honing your skills for high end injuries and RSI cases. Understand and able to follow different types of insurance guidelines and requirements. Must be able to document using a laptop. Must be able to walk up/down stairs. Complete an Evaluation visit within one hour: Inclusive of examination, establish patient's 1st home exercise program and/ or fabricate necessary approved splint, plus complete most of the documentation. Be able to analyze and prioritize the patient's clinical and therapeutic needs each day. During follow up treatments, you are able to complete all aspects of the treatment session with focus on hands-on care, joint mobilization, and comprehensive assessments. Be progressive and effectual in your treatment approaches. Demonstrate a high level of compassion, active listening, and understanding during all patient interactions to build trust, deliver culturally competent care, and support successful rehabilitation outcomes. Our clinic is very well-respected, progressive, and an effectual outpatient therapy private practice in El Cerrito, CA helping the entire Bay Area since 2001. Our case loads are diverse; about 50% RSI related and 50% trauma. Position is Part-time 24-32 hours per week, with Fulltime potential.
