Job Summary:

Provides occupational therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Occupational Therapists job summary and responsibilities.

+ Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).

+ Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.

+ Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.

+ Provides consultation to staff.

+ May act as a mentor for staff.

+ May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.

+ Identifies process Improvement opportunities.

+ May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.

+ Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.

+ May be involved in the clinical competency of COTAs and Rehab Aides.

+ May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.

+ Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

+ Minimum two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist required. Education

+ Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum with a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree with certification in occupational therapy or foreign trained equivalent License, Certification, Registration

+ Occupational Therapist License (California) required at hire

+ Basic Life Support

+ National Provider Identifier required at hire

+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
