Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) Autism Center, Sunnyvale, CA $120,000 - $130,000/year | Full-time or Part-Time | 100% clinic-based About the Center This autism center in Sunnyvale offers a highly sought-after intensive program where kids attend five days a week. Along with therapy, the center offers enrichment programs in piano, violin, chess, gymnastics, and more! Incorporating sensory activities and building motor skills is a huge part of the whole-child focus of this center. Speech and occupational therapy services are part of a broad, well-rounded program for each child. Because children attend daily, caseloads are small. Clinicians get to know each child and family well, follow progress closely, and have time to give each session their full attention. If you're looking for a place where high quality, individualized therapy is key, this is it. The whole team does only 6 hours of direct service a day, with a long break in the middle of the day for everyone. Run errands, meet a friend for lunch, prep for a session, or take a nap! The team is small, close-knit and collaborative. The center is looking for an Occupational Therapist who is excited about working with autistic children. Excellent guidance and mentorship is available, and new grads are welcome to apply! Part-time opportunities are available for candidates who are looking for a morning-only (9:30-12) or afternoon-only (2-5) schedule. Responsibilities Provide evaluations and occupational therapy services for a caseload Collaborate with other team members and provide OT support as needed Must be available from 9:30-5, or for a morning or afternoon block every day Monday-Friday Ideal Candidate Holds current California OT license New grads and seasoned OTs are welcome! Interested in autism and excited to continue growing in clinical skills Reads research and/or wants to be a part of broad next steps in the field Curious, open-minded, and always wants to learn more Comfortable with trying new approaches and learning from what doesn't work Program Fit This is an exciting role in a unique setting! You will have plenty of autonomy in therapeutic style and documentation. Outside the speech room, the center uses a more adult-directed style for many of the activities, including gymnastics, chess, and music. Collaboration and curiosity are important in this role! The center has connections with several university research programs and is looking to bring on an SLP who is open to growing the broader understanding of autism.
